MAİD does not measure the success of business by production and export figures alone. What an institution leaves behind is the measure of the promise it made to society. The projects led by our President, Ahmet Karakılınç, set the standard for the platform in this area.
Ahmet Karakılınç Anatolian High School — Kilis
A 24-classroom secondary school was built in the Fatih Sultan Mehmet neighbourhood of Kilis and donated to the Ministry of National Education, giving young people in the region access to a modern, well-equipped learning environment.
The building was not simply handed over and forgotten. Through the Career Talks programme, students meet regularly with business people who share their experience of working life, choosing a profession and entrepreneurship, while support programmes for teachers continue throughout the year.
Ahmeddin Mosque and Education Complex — Kağıthane, Istanbul
In the Nurtepe district of Kağıthane, a mosque was built together with separate Qur’an study rooms and social learning spaces for girls and boys. Alongside the place of worship, the complex also serves as a neighbourhood centre.
Sport and youth — Kilis
The founding of the Bölükgücü football club was led and supported, and continuous backing is given to Kilis Belediyespor and to local sports infrastructure — so that young people gain discipline, team spirit and a sense of belonging through sport.
MAİD’s approach
We treat social responsibility as part of our membership culture rather than a promotional activity. Through our committees we aim to bring members together on joint projects in education, the environment and youth — turning what is done individually into something done together.
